Provence Blue
I enjoyed photographing in the village of Roussillon which is a very colorful place due to the local salmon colored sandstone used for structural material as well as plaster. The streets are sloped due to their hilltop location. The town is in the Provence region of France and is full of shops selling beautiful linens and tablecloths, dried herbs and flowers, olive oil and local wines.
I was particularly drawn to the blue sky, hence the name of the photograph: Provence Blue. The air in this area is very clean due to the lack of industry for hundreds of miles. It is a Sunkist area and can be warm here though the heat is usually dry.
