Les Baux de Provence
This high hilltop town in Provence figured prominently in Roman times as it was a natural area to cross through this rocky region of South East France. The town was heavily fortified with a high stone wall towering above the surrounding region.
The eight hundred year old church in this France photo has some interesting features. Most notably the Gaelic crosses on the stairway in this church hundreds of miles from The Brittish Isles.
