Le Chemin au Jardin

Translated, the name of this French photo means; path to the garden. I made the photo in a village in the Dordogne River valley just after a brief afternoon shower. The path under the archway led down a hill and to the left where a lovely garden had been planted.

I liked the texture and form of the stones in the archway as well as the soft warm light on the distant hillside. The rich colors of the tile roof was echoed in the colors of the stone archway. I used a wide angle lens to achieve a sense of invitation and openness.
